1939' MG VA 1 1/2 Litre

this MG had been garaged for over 20 years ,run briefly then garaged for another 5 years before l bought it early last year. after work to the brakes and exhaust it went back on the road for the summer...
It has a healthy engine with re metalled big ends, rebuilt water pump, good gearbox , clutch and rear axle. the front brakes have been reclined with the stainless steel lined cylinders honed and new Lockheed rubbers. the chrome radiator and headlights are particularly good with sparkling reflectors and solenoid dip working. the pump for the hydraulic jacks does need attention . the paintwork in the correct Dublin and Ulster green is very tatty on the roof and front wings but l am told at shows not to restore it ! It must be some 40 years since it last had a respray.
a far more rewarding quality car to restore than its Morris , Austin and Wolseley contemporaries with lower built sporting lines..
