For sale in our Houston showroom is a rare find, an actual mileage, 1936 Ford Cabriolet Model 68 Deluxe. Powered by the numbers matching 221 CID flathead V8, this classic Ford has just 78,784 original miles; talk about a time machine. The great sounding and smooth-running flathead is backed by a 3-spd manual transmission that shifts smoothly. This Frame-Off Restoration shows very well and is ready for its next adventure. It's hard to fathom all the things this vintage automobile has seen. Professionally painted in "Sun Gold" paint and paired with black vinyl and a rumble seat, the 30s era comes back alive vividly. The year was 1936 and while this Ford was rolling off the assembly line, a gallon of gas was just 10 cents. Man, those were the days. Sitting on the black vinyl bench seat, gripping the Banjo steering wheel, you can feel history in your fingertips. This car is not only a great cruiser but it's a solid investment. The painted steel wheels, red pin striped hub caps, and wide-white wall tires set the tone that this is no common, gaudy street rod. This is a piece of well restored American history. Options include: wipers (not operable), horn, high and low headlights, hub caps, Firestone white wall tires, clock, and vinyl interior. Let's get back to that lovely flathead V8 engine. The engine was professionally rebuilt and balanced. We beg you to watch the video and listen to it purr. Dual Stromberg carburetors feed the mechanical masterpiece. Sanderson exhaust headers allow the engine to breathe out freely through dual pipes creating a symphony of sound. The attention to detail on this restoration is grand.
